Milwaukee® Introduces New Black Oxide Drill Bits
MILWAUKEE, WI ? Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces new Black Oxide drill bits designed for extended life and improved performance. Engineered for stability and strength, the new line features Thunderbolt® Web for quicker penetration, fast drill time, and efficient chip clearing. Aircraft Length and Silver & Deming (S&D) Black Oxide bits are also available to complete the line for various applications. "The Thunderbolt web is the drill bit's backbone," says Mike Kirby, Sr. Product Manager-Accessories of Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation. "Most black oxide drill bits have a conventional web with a wide chip form and small web thickness. The Thunderbolt® black oxide drill bits features a parabolic web design with a small chip form and a large web thickness. This is great for deep holes and drilling into curved surfaces, and provides a much longer life."
The entire 
new Milwaukee® line features a 135° Split Point tip that starts on contact to keep the bit from walking for fast accurate holes and a precision start. This requires less effort to drill and is highly recommended for use with portable drills. The line also features a 3-Flat Secure-Grip shank to prevent slipping in the drill chuck. The Black Oxide finish provides lubricity which serves to protect the bit from corrosion and reduces friction for more efficient chip removal.
While the Thunderbolt® Black Oxide drill bits are designed for metal, wood and PVC, the S&D Bits are ideal for heavy-duty metal drilling, automotive/ body shop and metal fabrication. The Aircraft Length bits are designed for hard to reach areas and are perfect for installing wire and cable.
